ZaraCom Demonstrates Latest Development of Its Product in Japan

Through live demonstrations, ZaraCom revealed the newest features of ZaraCom Solution Suit (ZSS), PacketCapture and Traffic Profiling, at Wireless Japan 2008 in July. Later this month, ZaraCom will be performing similar demonstrations at the WiMAX Ecosystem, a project lab hosted by Itochu Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC). The new functions make the WiMAX network “visible” and help to solve problems that arise specifically from the “all-IP” nature of the newest telecommunications technology.

WiMAX’s “all-IP” structure decreases the “visibility” of the network because signaling and traffic data are both sent in the same IP packet, making it difficult to differentiate between the two. To amend the visibility problem, ZaraCom engineers added to ZSS the capabilities to capture raw IP packet data and profile application level traffic. On top of end-to-end analysis, real-time monitoring of signal, traffic loading, and capacity planning/optimization, ZSS’ new features will let carriers/operators be able to “see” and understand data content and IP packet, assisting them to optimize network management and achieve the highest quality of performance and service.

CTC’s Ecosystem will feature WiMAX seminars and a project lab that attempts to build one network from ASN to CSN with help of major system vendors such as CISCO, Alvarion, Juniper, and etc. The product will be a microcosm of a real network. The ability for various vendors/carriers/operators to verify the quality of the network with their own eyes has garnered much attention and anticipation from the industry. In the same lab, ZaraCom will provide live demonstrations to prove ZSS’ comprehensive support for WiMAX using one integrated system online and in real-time and its ability to “make visible” the WiMAX network.
