ZaraCom Presents at Dow Jones VentureWire Technology Showcase
ZaraCom was one of the few companies nominated by the Taiwanese government to present at the Dow Jones VentureWire Technology Showcase on Nov. 18th and 19th in San Francisco. Amongst the 125 presenting companies, ZaraCom was able to draw one of the largest groups of attendees. The 10-minute presentation by CEO Melvin Lee drew positive feedbacks and comments from participants.
Several parties expressed interest in ZaraCom and its product.

ZaraCom Demonstrates Latest Development of Its Product in Japan
Through live demonstrations, ZaraCom revealed the newest features of ZaraCom Solution Suit (ZSS), PacketCapture and Traffic Profiling, at Wireless Japan 2008 in July. Later this month, ZaraCom will be performing similar demonstrations at the WiMAX Ecosystem, a project lab hosted by Itochu Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC). The new functions make the WiMAX network “visible” and help to solve problems that arise specifically from the “all-IP” nature of the newest telecommunications technology.
WiMAX’s “all-IP” structure decreases the “visibility” of the network because signaling and traffic data are both sent in the same IP packet, making it difficult to differentiate between the two. To amend the visibility problem, ZaraCom engineers added to ZSS the capabilities to capture raw IP packet data and profile application level traffic. On top of end-to-end analysis, real-time monitoring of signal, traffic loading, and capacity planning/optimization, ZSS’ new features will let carriers/operators be able to “see” and understand data content and IP packet, assisting them to optimize network management and achieve the highest quality of performance and service.
CTC’s Ecosystem will feature WiMAX seminars and a project lab that attempts to build one network from ASN to CSN with help of major system vendors such as CISCO, Alvarion, Juniper, and etc. The product will be a microcosm of a real network. The ability for various vendors/carriers/operators to verify the quality of the network with their own eyes has garnered much attention and anticipation from the industry. In the same lab, ZaraCom will provide live demonstrations to prove ZSS’ comprehensive support for WiMAX using one integrated system online and in real-time and its ability to “make visible” the WiMAX network.

ZaraCom to Begin Research Cooperation with Taiwan’s National Institute
ZaraCom and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a national-level R&D organization in Taiwan, recently announced their plan to deepen cooperation through co-researching at ITRI’s M-Taiwan WiMAX Applications Lab (MTWAL). The co-researching opportunity will be an integration of ITRI’s experiences from long-term studies on application testing cases and ZaraCom’s unique AI-based solutions for network performance management. MTWAL, one of the few WiMAX forum application labs in the world, provides a centralized monitor/analysis application field trial lab and makes it possible to provide application vendors with performance and user behavior data as reference information for future commercial operation.
As a kick-off to the new cooperation, ITRI invited ZaraCom to participate in this year’s MTWAL Open House on June 3rd and 4th. Through a powerful combination of several modules, ZaraCom provided live demonstrations of direct collection and processing of raw data from the ASNGateway. ZaraCom engineers were able to prove the ability to make accurate forecasts of network conditions with the immediate display of statistical analysis in user-friendly graphical charts. In addition, the demonstrations revealed that conventional performance management system is insufficient for the “all-IP” architecture of WiMAX and analyzed application profile for better managing transport network and equipment.

ZaraCom Presents at Early Stage Capital Forum
ZaraCom was selected as a presenter at the Early Stage Capital Forum on Jan 23rd, hosted by DC Tech Council. DC Tech has hosted for the past 7 years, providing competitively selected companies with extensive coaching and training and introducing them to angels and venture capitalists. Over 100 companies submitted applications to the forum and only 13 were selected. As a selected company, ZaraCom conducted an 8 minute presentation in the afternoon session regarding the technology and business strategy of the company. The forum was held in The Capital Hilton in Washington D.C.

ZaraCom was awarded 3rd place in Annual Business Plan of the Year by Monte Jade Science and Technology Association of Greater Washington D.C. The association is a leading national organization providing resource, funding and staffing for growing high tech businesses. Lisa Chan (EVP) represented the company to receive the award plaque and gave a speech at the Annual Award Banquet.

ZaraCom Presents at Capital Access Network
ZaraCom submitted an application to Capital Access Network (CAN), run by the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship of the Robert H. Smith School of Business in University of Maryland. After reviewing our business plan and intensive coaching on presentation, Capital Access Network introduced ZaraCom as a presenter at a Jan 10th breakfast meeting. Attendees at the meeting included VCs, angel investors, organization leaders, and representatives from the Department of Economic Development of the County and the State of Maryland. The CEO of ZaraCom represented the company and conducted the presentation.

ZaraCom Presents at Early Stage Capital Forum
ZaraCom was selected as a presenter at the Early Stage Capital Forum on Jan 23rd, hosted by DC Tech Council. DC Tech has hosted for the past 7 years, providing competitively selected companies with extensive coaching and training and introducing them to angels and venture capitalists. Over 100 companies submitted applications to the forum and only 13 were selected. As a selected company, ZaraCom conducted an 8 minute presentation in the afternoon session regarding the technology and business strategy of the company. The forum was held in The Capital Hilton in Washington D.C.
